Sono riuscita a scambiare due parole con la super fotografa Vanessa Andrieux! E’ stata un’emozione rubarle un’intervista! Date un’occhiata alla sua vita racchiusa in 11 domande.

L’ interessantissima vita di una fotografa di action sport racchiusa in qualche domandina! Vanessa ci ha risposto con tanta voglia e motivazione nonostante i suoi mille impegni!

Presentati ai nostri lettori! Per ora sappiamo che sei francese e che sei una delle migliori fotografe europee! Quando è nata in te questa passione e quando hai capito che per te sarebbe stato un lavoro?
Se devo essere sincera ho iniziato a fare fotografie e snowboardare in contemporanea. Quindi ho imparato a lavorare e girare sulle stesse nevi! Dopo il primo anno però ho capito che quello sarebbe stato il mio futuro ed il mio lavoro!

Riusciresti a spiegarci come mescolare passione e lavoro? E’ difficile nella tua situazione gestire i tempi lavorativi con le tue passioni?
In realtà è molto difficile! La mia prima vera passione era lo snowboard… poi dopo poco ho capito che stava diventando impossibile per me il tipico “riding for fun”, ma che dovevo girare sempre con un grosso zaino stra colmo di arnesi fotografici! Se proprio devo essere sincera è un pò frustrante fare shooting quando la neve è super e girano tutti tranne me!

Hai viaggiato molto negli anni! Qual è il posto più bello che hai visto? Quello invece dove non vorresti mai più tornare?
Non posso dire di averne visto uno così terribile da dover essere dimenticato! Viaggio molto e ogni partenza per me è una super emozione e cerco sempre di vivermela al 100per100! Tutto il mondo è bello, ma se prorprio devo fare dei nomi, probabilmente nominerei Argentina, New Zealand, Canada, Japan, …

La fotografia è una forma d’arte molto particolare,quali sono le sensazioni che cerchi di trasmettere con ogni tuo scatto? Una modella solitamente cerca di promuovere un qualche oggetto e il fotografo deve catturarla al meglio, tu invece cosa cerchi di catturare? Cosa devono esprimere per te i riders che immortali?
Sinceramente il mio più grande goal sarebbe riuscire a fare sognare la gente con le mie foto! Cerco sempre l’angolo o il dettaglio giusto che possa dare alla mia foto un qualcosa di speciale! Questo non sempre mi riesce… e io sono sempre molto critica nei confronti della mia arte! Non sono mai soddisfatta in toto del mio lavoro, per certo questa mia caratteristica però mi farà crescere!

Perchè definiresti la fotografia una forma d’arte? Come riesci a trasmettere le emozioni di cui sopra?
Sicuramente la fotografia è una forma d’arte! Quando faccio una foto non mi chiedo mai prima cosa voglio esprimere… ma aspetto la naturalezza della foto! Non ho mai pensato di avere un occhio particolare, finchè alcuni miei amici non me l’hanno fatto notare. Credo che il tocco personale faccia del fotografo un’artista.

Come mai hai scelto come soggetto delle tue fotografie lo snowboard o comunque gli action sport e non un qualunque altro tipo di soggetto statico?
Mi chiedo sempre anche io come mai abbia scelto un lavoro così “freddo”! Mi sono sempre piaciuti gli action sport… e non mi sono mai immaginata la mia vita in un ufficio.. per questo ho scelto lo snowboard!

Dove ti piacerebbe vivere?
Annecy, dove vivo attualmente! E’ perfetto per me… c’è il mood che mi rispecchia… in mezzo alle alpi!

Quale sarebbe per te il giorno perfetto?
Molto facile la risposta… per me è una giornata di powder con i miei amici e… SENZA ZAINO!

Quali altre grandi passioni hai oltre alla fotografia e allo snowboard? Riesci a trovare il tempo per dedicarti a queste?
Il Surf è l’altra mia grande passione, non vedo l’ora di essere a surfare in un posto caldo! D’estate riesco a trovare i miei spazi anche per questo!

Se potessi scegliere cosa fare o chi essere in un’altra vita, chi sceglieresti?
Farei l’esploratrice come Indiana Jones!!

E se potessi dire grazie a qualcuno, oppure a qualcosa che ti ha sempre accompagnato, a chi o cosa dedicheresti il tuo ringraziamento?
Tutti coloro che mi hanno supportato negli anni e che mi hanno dato la forza per continuare con le mie passioni!

We know that you are from France and that you are one of the best photographer in Europe! When did you understand that your passion was take picture? And when did you translate this feeling in a job?
Actually I started photography straight with snowboarding, and I started learning and working at the same time, it’s only after the first year that I realize it will be my lifetime job.

Can you explain us how we can melt passion and job? Is it difficult to manage your time and your job commitment?
Yes it’s really difficult, my first passion was snowboarding and after many years of working I realize I never have time to ride for me without a big backpack. I’m super frustrated sometimes when the snow is perfect and I have to shoot even if sometimes the only thing I’m thinking of is shredding.

You traveled a lot around the world in order to satisfy your job commitment and your passion! What is the most beautiful place that you visited? And the worst one?
I can’t really name the worst one, I like traveling a lot and as soon as I’m visiting a new country I’m super exited and I try to enjoy it as much as possible. All those places are beautiful and there is always something I like in every one of them but if I have to name some I enjoyed the most, maybe Argentina, New Zealand, Canada, Japan, …

Of course we know that behind each picture there is something more about the photographer philosophy of life. What is your attitude in taking picture? What is the feeling that you want to convey in each picture? What kind of feeling are you trying to explain with a skier picture?
Actually my biggest goal when I take a picture is to make people dream. I always try to find the angle or the detail that will give something special to my photo but it doesn’t work all the time and I’m really critical about my work, I’m almost never totally satisfied with my shots, but I guess it’s how I improve my work.

We can compare photography to a form of art!! So, in your opinion, is taking photos a form of art? And are you able with your pictures to express your feelings and your thoughts?
Yes for sure photography is a form of art. When I take a picture I never ask myself if I express my feelings or my thoughts I guess it’s coming naturally, I never thought I have a special touch in my photos until friends told me about it and I realized that there is always a personal touch in every pictures we make professional or not.

Why did you choose to take picture of an action sport, and why did you choose such a cold sport?
It’s exactly the question I’m asking myself as soon as the temperature is too low. About the action sport, I guess I always liked action and I couldn’t picture myself working in an office so I just tried to make a life out of snowboarding.

We know that you are living in Annecy, but we also know that you travelled a lot! Where is the place in which you would like to live?
Annecy is the place I chose and where I wanted to be. I love this place it’s in the middle of the alps and there is a nice big lake, for me it’s exactly where I’m feeling good.

What makes a perfect day riding for you?
A beautiful weather day with a lot of powder, no backpack and my friends shredding with me.

Have you got any other hidden talents? Or have you got any others programs in order to satisfy hobbies or passions?
I don’t think I have any hidden talents, my best program is to be on holidays surfing in a beautiful and warm place.

If you wouldn’t be a professional photographer, what would you be?
I would be an explorer like Indiana Jones.
